Options implementing a #messaging solution based on the #Oracle stack [link]
Three options are mentioned in the slides
- Oracle AQ: database-internal, accessible via PL-SQL
- Oracle JMS: JMS-interface on top of Oracle AQ, standard-compliant, still in the database
- Weblogic JMS: Standard JMS-implementation running in the weblogic-server, accessing the database via JDBC
I’d go with number 3, since most of our implementations focus on a J2EE-implementation. I’d always try to avoid a mix of different technologies with in project.
1 and 2 are certainly good solutions for data-driven applications.
